This project is highlighted by two 200ft long by 12ft deep heavy wide flange trusses. Each truss weighing in at approximately 85 tons was lifted as one piece (comprised of 3 sections for shipping). The balance of the steel framing comprises of sloping roof geometry and supports for glulam framing over the pool area. The Hillcrest Park Recreation Centre will be used as the men's and women's curling and mixed wheelchair curling venue during the 2010 Winter Games with a seating capacity of 6000 (more info at Official Website).
